The Prompt:
"Create a logo and album cover for Weird Wiki, a comedic and educational podcast tackling strange science, history, and human interest stories from around the world, using Wikipedia articles as each episode's starting point. The branding should be lighthearted and designed for a young adult demographic. There should be emphasis on the strange and peculiar nature of the show. The album cover should be illustrative and eye-catching, with a logo that can easily work across a variety of mediums and contexts."

The Design:
A vector illustration of the Earth quickly coveys a playful, casually informative tone, while remaining appropriate for all of Weird Wiki's potential topics of conversation (such as history, science, and human-centric stories).
A bookish serif typeface was chosen to invoke (but not match) Wikipedia's branding, as Wikipedia is vital to the podcast's premise.
To emphasize the strangeness of the podcast's content, I did a few things. First, I put the word "weird" in an alternate, italicized form- this is WEIRD wiki, after all. Then, I added a coffee stained paper texture to the text which adds almost an organic, microbial messiness to the logo so that the brand could skew away from the clean, academic look most associated with Wikipedia.
Finally, a blue drop shadow and an off-yellow gradient help the logo pop from the illustrated background.
